Biography

Kristina A. Fretwell represents policyholders in the evaluation and litigation of insurance coverage matters, as well as contractors in all types of construction disputes.  Ms. Fretwell’s representation of policyholders extends to all types of participants in the construction industry, from regional and national homebuilders, to commercial and residential general contractors, specialty contractors and design professionals.  This representation extends to all types of first- and third-party policies, including commercial general liability, excess and umbrella, builder’s risk and property, directors and officers and professional liability policies.  Ms. Fretwell handles all forms of coverage disputes throughout the western United States.  Ms. Fretwell’s representation of builders, contractors and design professionals, as well as various other types of businesses in a variety of fields, extends to a variety of construction and business disputes, including various contract- and tort-based claims. 

Prior to entering the practice of law, Ms. Fretwell spent nearly a decade lobbying at the federal, state and local levels of government, representing public and private entities in areas such as housing, education, taxation and transportation.  In law school, Ms. Fretwell served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Nita L. Stormes, Presiding Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court, Southern District of California, as a Law Clerk in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office, and as a Student Practitioner with the California Western School of Law Trademark Clinic.  Before joining McLeod Law Group, Ms. Fretwell represented business entities and private individuals in complex business disputes and breach of contract actions.
